Ancient Celtic Belt Dirk

Product Code: TAANBD

In ancient times broad dirks were a symbol of power and wealth, and only a chief or hero would have had such a weapon on his belt. When the Romans landed in Britain they would have often seen this type of dirk on the belts of their allies, but many more were seen in the hands of enemy leaders. In its style, the blade (made of iron) had changed little from the more ancient Bronze Age Chief's Dirk, but its handle was more developed with a definite guard to protect the user's hand.
